Give every bidder the same reference
Identify the drawing revision, bill of quantities and specification used for pricing. Share clarifications consistently with bidders and give them a deadline for raising omissions. Similar totals may cover very different work when the pricing reference differs.
Separate inclusions from options
Compare quantity, unit, material specification, installation and inspection for each item. Keep options and provisional amounts separate, and ask how unpriced work will be treated. Include site setup, transport, storage, protection and cleaning: these affect both cost and sequencing.
Review time and change control
Compare programmes against site access, information release and approval dates. Establish how late decisions or deliveries affect the plan and how changes are recorded before work proceeds. Align payment stages with deliverables and have the final contractual wording reviewed by your appointed adviser.
Make the decision explainable
Record the preferred scope, outstanding risks and resolved questions rather than only ranking totals. Send a consistent briefing pack, proposal deadline and required disciplines so our team can prepare a response that your decision makers can assess.
